Milltech Employer Engagement Policy
Milltech is a long established Training Organisation providing vocational training and qualifications. Working in partnership with our employers we promote existing and develop new programmes as per their needs in their businesses and additional requirements from the awarding bodies.
Milltech advertises current apprenticeships with the National Apprenticeship Service, the Sunderland Providers’ directory and on our website. Initially we will visit the employer at his location, as all decision makers are based locally and all training will take place at the Milltech Training Centre or at the employer’s premises. All discussions take place directly with our Managing Director or with a Senior Training Officer, allowing existing arrangements to be confirmed and for the development of Standards.
Having established employer requirements, a job description of the opportunity is agreed and advertised on the National Apprenticeship Service. A mutual letter of commitment is agreed between Milltech and the employer incorporating conditions and working arrangements and establishing how and when training will take place and incorporating the Guided Learning Hours required. This will also establish the actual modules used in the qualification.
Arrangements for the learner’s reviews, their frequency and their content and parties attending will be established which are normally every 11 weeks during the training period plus specific observational visits coaching and mentoring.
The main relationship will be directly with the Training Officer and maintained during the review visits. Escalation of concerns will involve the respective Team Leaders and Managing Director, and the Safeguarding Officer, if appropriate.
The Manging Director is directly involved in managing all employer relationships and for responding to questions and general communications.
Employers are asked for their feedback at least 4 times during the learner journey and additionally when the learner has completed. Any questions are handled by the Training Officer or the Managing Director in order to effect the correct response in the required area.
