Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety
The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety qualification is suitable for those people who wish to work at events such as football matches, festivals, concerts and other publicly attended mass gatherings.
This accredited qualification is aimed at learners who wish to gain a nationally recognised and accredited qualification in spectator safety.
In order to achieve this certificate, learners are required to complete the following six mandatory units:
- Prepare for spectator events
- Control the entry, exit and movement of people at spectator events
- Monitor spectators and deal with crowd problems
- Support the work of the team and organisation
- Help to manage conflict
- Deal with accidents and emergencies.
his qualification is aimed at individuals who work or wish to work in the match day and events stewarding industry.
The qualification meets the requirements laid out in the Football Licensing Authority’s Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (known as the Green Guide).
The course covers a number of modules including preparation for stewarding activities, identifying and dealing with physical hazards, knowing how to prepare for stewarding activities, how to search the venue for suspect items and controlling the entry and exit of people at events. It also covers how to provide people with information and help them with other problems as well as how to search people for unauthorised items.
